Block Island Striper Fishing

March 1, 2011 · Posted in Events · Comment

Capt. Mike Neto has been fishing Rod and Reel for over 35 years. In 1990 he started commercial fishing for Stripers, Tautog and Giant Blue Fin Tuna. 11 years ago he took what he learned from commercial fishing and decided to teach people how to catch these fish with much lighter tackle. He is the owner and operator of Adrianna Charters, a 28 foot Ocean Runner with a straight inboard Volvo diesel, center console, a 360 degree fishing machine.
Captain Mike will be talking about Striper Fishing Block Island with Light Tackle and how to entice Stripers to bite when most anglers are experiencing the fish are in a “lock jaw” stage. He will also discuss some of the gear we uses to land these monster fish. During the past 11 years the Adrianna has landed 23 Stripers over 50+lbs and two Stripers over 60 pounds, topping the scale at 65.2 pounds, all on 6 lb,15 lb and 20 lb spinning tackle.
Capt Mike Neto owns and operates Adrianna Charters based in Point Judith, RI. He is a USCG licensed captain, experienced tournament angler, outdoor writer, seminar speaker, and has been featured on TV and in print. He has vast experience both inshore and offshore.
Now you can learn some of the tricks Mike’s experiences have uncovered by visiting with him at The New England Saltwater Fishing Show March 11 – 13 at The Rhode Island Convention Center.
